The purpose of meditation practice is not to avoid life, but to experience and demonstrate that happiness is possible right here and now. The foundation for happiness is mindfulness. If we are not aware that we are happy, we are not really happy. During this retreat, we stop much of our usual activity, practice conscious breathing to calm our minds, and look deeply at our thoughts and feelings. We will have time to be quiet and get in touch with nourishing elements that we take for granted in our everyday lives. Every step we take will create a cool breeze, refreshing our body and mind. The atmosphere of the retreat is one of quiet joy.
